So, this is fun! I was alerted by the awesome Fred Van Lente that Dolltopia made an appearance in the Season 2 premiere (episode title: “Mixologist”) of the fantastic IFC show, Portlandia!

It’s in the background of the feminist bookstore sketch, which appears to have been filmed at real-life bookstore In Other Words, where I did a reading when I was touring the West Coast. I totally recommend visiting this store if you are ever in Portland! You can watch Portlandia on IFC, season 1 is on netflix and hulu and they also currently have season 2 available for download on itunes. Since I’m already a fan of the show, I am super-excited to see Dolltopia pop up in the background!

Aftershock – Artists Respond to Disaster in Japan is a comics anthology that I’ve contributed to. A global response to the combined disasters of the tsunami, earthquake and nuclear meltdown that occured in Japan in March, 2011. Over 35 contributors from 5 continents including Jeffrey Brown, Noah Van Sciver, Carrie McNinch and Ben Snakepit share their thoughts and feelings about Japan. The proceeds from this book will be donated to relief efforts in northeast Japan.
