This week I’m guesting again on the awesome podcast, Schlock Treatment! Listen to the episode here (or you can download it via itunes or stitcher)! We talk all about the movie Barbarella. One thing I love about this movie is all of the fun costumes. So, I was inspired to do a few illustrations. Enjoy!
This week, I had the pleasure of appearing again on the hilarious Schlock Treatment podcast! This time, we covered the ’80s cheese-fest – The Apple! I’ve also put together a Top 10 Divas of Schlock list for the occasion. Feel free to chime in with your own favorites in the comments of the post!
Hope you all have a wonderful New Year!
Looking back on 2013, I didn’t get to post as many dessert comics as I would have liked. But there is a very good reason for that! Every day, I was working on a new project that will be announced very soon! So hold on tight, you’ll be seeing a whole new book full of my art out in Fall of 2014. In the meantime, here are some of my highlights!
Hurray! The Robicelli’s book, Robicelli’s: A Love Story, with Cupcakes: With 50 Decidedly Grown-Up Recipes, is out now! I thought it would be fun to share these comic pages I collaborated on with Allison when the book was in the pitching stage. These pages are not in the book, but I think they’ll give you a good idea of the fun tone of the book!
In addition to comics and desserts, you may know (via my Twitter feed) that I love cheesy and campy movies. I listen to various podcasts as I draw, and one of my recent faves is Schlock Treatment! It features four hilarious guys who watch schlocky movies and joke around about them. It’s been a staple for me the past several months, and I was honored to be invited to guest host this week. Since it’s December, we watched Jingle All the Way. I don’t recommend the movie, but I DO recommend you listen to us having fun joking around about the movie, as well as toys, cookies, Japanese bathroom technology, Spider-Man, and various other topics of interest. I encourage you to subscribe to their podcast via itunes, Stitcher Radio, or just listen to it streaming on their site. Click here to listen!
