I just got back from the reception of The Center Show and here are some pics of me with my triptych entitled “Dolls in Love” I am really pleased with how it came out (I tried out new materials – fake fur and acrylic spray paint) and the reception was so fun! It was especially cool seeing the original pieces from 20 years ago by Keith Haring, David LaChapelle, The Guerilla Girls, and Kenny Scharf to just name a few. Thanks again to Rodney Greenblat for choosing me to be in the show!

Then and Now, 20th Anniversary of the Center Show
The Center, 208 W. 13th St. NYC
Exhibition June 1, 2009 – September 30, 2009
In June 1989, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center hosted The Center Show, a legendary effort in which famous and emerging artists created site-specific works on the walls of the building in commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the Stonewall riots. Several major figures in the art world such as Keith Haring, Leon Golub, Kenny Scharf, David LaChapelle, and Nancy Spero contributed to this groundbreaking event.
Many of the original pieces still exist in situ here and are seen by the over 6,000 weekly visitors to the Center. The new show, entitled Then and Now, will run here at the Center throughout the summer of 2009.
Barbara Sahlman and David Nimmons, two of the producers of the original show, are our event co-chairs. Nancy Spero and Robert Storr, Dean of the Yale University Art School serve as exhibition co-chairs.
We are happy to report that the Keith Haring Foundation, Andy Warhol Foundation, Art Forum and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs are providing support for this exhibition. The show will open with a gala benefit reception and preview party on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Center.
Participating Artists include:
Nathaniel A. Siegel
Wu Ingrid Tsang
Sarah Nelson Wright/Nathaniel Lieb

Here’s a sneak preview of the work in progress on my piece for the Then and Now show at The Center this coming week. So exciting! Please note that it’s harder to find hot pink fake fur in NYC than I expected. I called 8 stores before I found it!
I’ll be at the Sakura Matsuri at Brooklyn Botanic Garden ( 1000 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn, NY ) on May 2-3 signing books at the Manga & Anime Artist Alley! This is happening rain or shine and will be an amazing event! Check out the special postcard I designed for the occasion!
