Rock and Roll Book Catch-up

I’ll start this off with a photo I took at Louis Vuitton where the window is celebrating late designer Stephen Sprouse, noted for his collaborations with Debbie Harry. Great window!

I’ve still been reading plenty of books, just not posting about them. Sorry! Anyway, I wanted to post about Debbie Harry Sings in French, a YA novel about a punky straight, yet cross-dressing teen boy. His girlfriend Maria helps him cross dress as his idol, Debbie Harry and it is a fun and touching book. Much recommended!

I also just finished reading The Heebie-Jeebies at CBGBs: A Secret History of Jewish Punk, which has a lot of interesting info about the history of NY punk covering people like Lou Reed, The Dictators, The Ramones, and much more. I found it very interesting and it also gets into Jewish American history a bit. Also recommended!
