I finally got down to the Murakami exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum . It was really great, right up my alley. He’s done some amazing things with bright colors and flat cartoony art, it really blew my mind. My favorite part is called ” So Many Flowers” which apparently (according to the description on the wall) also translates to “Cuteness! Summer vacation.”
It consists of a huge room wallpapered with brightly colored flower designs, in the middle of which is a flower sculpture and several flower paintings on the wall. It was very busy, bright, and beautiful. Almost psychedelic. Some visitors were heard to say that the room made them dizzy. ^_^ Of course I ended buying a cute flower pin that was in the gift shop on the way out.
