In an unexpected turn of events my roses rose from the grave (Ha-ha! I love puns!). Usually after their glorious summer fling they are done for the year, but much to my surprise this weekend I woke up and about six new roses had opened up (cue The Damned song). I also got to buy asters at the farmer’s market this weekend. Extra-pretty. I was too late in the day for the mums, apparently all the locals bought them out in the morning hours. I’ll have to be more aggressive this weekend.
My one-woman book club continues to roll on and I just updated it with four of my patented mini-reviews: Confessions from the Velvet Ropes, Suzy, Led Zeppelin, and Me, To Marry Medusa, and Fun Home. Check it out here!
Check out the great review for Matt Loux’s Sidescrollers! In stores at the end of this month!

I’ve been working on some new comic ideas and doing lots of house stuff all weekend. After yesterday’s rain I went out and checked on my terrace garden. I have a few flowers here and there including portulaca (which has been growing weed-like in a few of my pots), petunia, and my heliotrope is coming back. The Coleus I planted about a few weeks ago is popping up nicely! The big news is peaches! My peaches have matured and are poppin off the tree. My mom suggested I bake a peach crumble, so I did. I improvised since I didn’t have flour around, I used pancake mix instead combined with melted butter and sugar (I didn’t have brown sugar on hand). Worked like a charm!
I also took some new pics of Slinky!
I had a great interview with Joe Palmer of Gay League, the fan site for gay comic readers and creators. He did his research and asked me some good questions I hadn’t answered before so check this one out!
